《Kiss from a Rose》是英国男歌手席尔演唱的歌曲，由席尔个人谱写，特雷弗·霍恩负责制作。歌曲于1994年7月发行，被收录在席尔的第二张录音室专辑《Seal II》，并作为插曲被收录在电影《永远的蝙蝠侠》原声专辑内。

歌曲于1987年开始创作。席尔表示，歌曲是在一场试验中诞生的。在这场试验中，他录制了包括这首歌曲在内等四首歌曲的小样。他对此次的成果感到“很尴尬”，于是便将这些小样扔到了角落里，并拒绝在制作人特雷弗·霍恩面前播放它们。一段时间后，他在一位好友前播放了这首歌曲，而这位朋友则将这首歌曲的存在告诉给了霍恩。之后当席尔同霍恩在准备他的第二张录音室专辑时，霍恩建议他去录制这首歌曲。
这首歌曲最初在1994年7月被释出，并被收录在席尔的第二张录音室专辑《Seal II》。在歌曲发行一年后，电影《永远的蝙蝠侠》导演乔尔·舒马赫找到了席尔，并提议将歌曲用在电影的一幕爱情镜头中，于是歌曲同时被收录在了电影的原声专辑内。

Seal并不是一名少年成名的艺术家，在大学毕业获得建筑专业的学位以后，他在伦敦先后找了许多不同的工作，包括电力工程师和皮装设计师等等。而他的音乐历程也是十分曲折的，最初他只是在英国的酒吧内唱歌，后来加入了英国的一支疯克(Funk)乐队Push。80年代中后期，在乐队的亚洲巡回演唱会结束以后，他又加盟了泰国的一支乐队。然而在泰国的日子并不太久，离开泰国并且经过了印度之旅以后，Seal又回到了英国。
不久，Seal结识了音乐制作人Adamski，Seal的嗓音和演唱功力很快震动了Adamski。1990年，在Adamski的协助下，Seal发行了一张EP唱片《Killer》，这张专辑很快在英国成为了排行榜冠军，这张EP专辑的成功，为Seal带来了一份自己的合同。他的首张正式专辑《Seal(1991)》在1991年6月11日发行，担任制作人的是曾经为Frankie Goes to Hollywood乐队制作专辑的前the Buggles乐队成员Trevor Horn。这张专辑中诞生了许多首非常优秀的单曲，无论在英国还是在美国都获得了相当大程度的成功，专辑总销量超过了三百万张。在专辑发行之后他又参加了向吉他之神Jimi Hendrix献礼的专辑《Stone Free》的录制。

2003年9月9日，Human Being的第四张正式专辑《Seal IV》发行。这张专辑再度由制作人Trevor Horn来操刀，这对艺人与制作人搭档已联手创造出全球1200万的专辑销售佳绩，并谱出"Crazy," "Prayer For The Dying"和"Kiss From A Rose"等佳作，这次再度携手，自然获得乐迷与乐评的高度期待，此外，还加入Mark Batson (India Arie / Acoustic Soul专辑)和Alan Griffiths (Tears For Fears专辑制作人)共同与Seal一起创作。首周8万2千张的销量把他推到了Billboard 200排行榜季军的位置，这也创下了他的最高记录，此前这名英国歌星最好的成绩是第二张专辑《Seal(1994)》在1995年创下的第15位。这次的专辑名称延续了以前的习惯，仍然以他的名字“Seal”来命名，同时为了体现这是他的第四张专辑，所以在名字后边加了“IV”。
